Playa Blanca and Playa Tranquila are not the same

Barú is a peninsula south of Cartagena, separated from the mainland by the Canal del Dique, and Playa Blanca is its best-known public beach: pale sand, turquoise water and plenty of people, especially at weekends.

Playa Tranquila is the stretch where DYK runs its day passes. You reach it from Playa Blanca with a short passenger-boat transfer that leaves the busiest area behind. That is where our sun beds and chairs are, lunch by the sea and, at Crystal Beach Club, the private facilities.
